I’m Dries Brouckaert, proudly Belgian and born in the glorious year of 1976 — which means I’m vintage, not old. Like a fine wine… or a slightly dented bike helmet.

My partner-in-crime Sofie and I have two teenagers, Jasper and Lies. They’re awesome, but they also eat up our travel budget like it’s fries and mayo. So for now, we travel in packs of four — like a family-sized adventure squad.

One day I thought, “Why not run a marathon?” So I did. Then I got a mountain bike. Then trail running caught my eye. And before I knew it, I was deep into endurance running and multi-day mountain biking. Basically, if it involves sweat and suffering, I’m probably into it.

This website? It’s my way of saying: “Hey, you can do cool stuff too!” I’ve kept it simple — just a sprinkle of info here and there. If a trail was meh or a race was a snooze, I won’t bother posting it. Life’s too short for boring adventures.
